We woke up early at 7AM (Beijing Time, which is 5AM Xinjiang Time), and set off to hike this hill besides Lake Kanas. On the way an unexpected guest showed up – a wolf wondering out of the trees, a true steppenwolf. He stared at us for a few seconds before disappeared back into the woods.

Three hours later we were on the top – overlooking the entire lake and the great Boreal forest surrounds it. From here we can see as far as the snow capped peaks in Russia (in the middle of the horizon), the tourist cruises started to dispatch. Thousands of thousands of birds singing, all saturated with a smell of glacier water and air.
